03 | The Most Concerned Q&A
Q1: Will the outer shell get hot during the firing process? Will it damage the floor?
A: We have conducted numerous tests - the metal of the outer shell conducts heat quickly, and it feels hot to the touch, but it won't exceed 60℃ (otherwise it would bubble). The bottom of the kiln is the area with the lowest temperature in the entire kiln, it is insulated by air, and the temperature doesn't exceed 30℃. Moreover, the kiln and the floor do not have direct contact, so it is completely fine to use indoors.
Q2: How is the atmosphere recreated? Is the effect good?
A: The atmosphere is recreated mainly by injecting a small amount of gas into the kiln through the climbing gas cylinder (provided with a stainless steel gas tube), which consumes oxygen and creates a reducing atmosphere.
For the same glaze, the effects of oxidation and reduction firing are completely different - as shown in the comparison in the right picture (see the original material), it is clearly visible that the reduced firing presents a more rich and varied glaze variation texture.

Q3: Is it safe to use the home version for refilling?
A: The climbing gas cylinder is specifically designed for extremely cold or hot environments. It is both resistant to high temperatures and low temperatures, making it very safe.
When purchasing the refilled version, we will also provide a stainless steel refilling hose. It is corrosion-resistant and can withstand high temperatures, ensuring a safe operation.
